Tom O’Donnell is the Senior Vice President for Government Affairs and Public Policy at NACDS, where he oversees federal and state advocacy and public policy. Previously, Tom served as the Vice President for Federal Government Affairs at NACDS for over four years. Before joining NACDS, Tom spent over 25 years on Capitol Hill, including positions as Chief of Staff for Congressmen Rush Holt, Phil Hare, and Steve Rothman as well as serving as a legislative staffer to Congressman Lane Evans and Congresswoman Pat Schroeder. Through serving members of the House Committees on Veterans’ Affairs and Armed Services, Tom worked on efforts to support our fighting men and women and to expand and protect the benefits of veterans and their dependents. Many of these initiatives were bipartisan efforts, a valuable skill Tom brings to NACDS as chain pharmacies navigate a constrained and contentious fiscal environment on Capitol Hill.
