Todd Huseby
Leader of Chicago Office and Healthcare Sector
Kearney
Few industries have experienced as much disruption and transformation over the past two decades as health and retail. And that’s where Todd Huseby thrives.
He’s worked for Kearney for nearly two decades, starting as a summer intern while still at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. When he graduated, he began designing large-scale IT systems, and went on to become the leader of Kearney’s retail health practice, where the pace of change is, as he describes it, “relentless. For example, now digital initiatives are a standard part of business operations. If you’re going to do digital, you have to embed it in everything you do.”
His favorite projects are the ones where the clients are willing to do something “big, scary, and disruptive,” he says. “They’re a little bit nervous, but also quite a bit excited, and you know your skills and your team’s skills are really valuable.”
Along the way, he says, both the Kearney team and his clients have become his extended family, and he takes particular satisfaction in leading the Kearney recruiting team for the University of Chicago. “It reminds me of the time when I was in their shoes coming in, and it’s a nice way for me to get a sneak peek at the people who are going to be joining the firm.”
